Q: I cannot draw lines at an intended position. How can I improve it?

Hello! For those of you who are learning Car Design, CDA instructor is going to share some techniques today.  

Q: I cannot draw lines at an intended position. How can I improve it?

You know that each professional car designer has different drawing style. Even for professional car designers, it is difficult to complete a sketch on the first try. However, I can say that single long stroke line works among professional car designers because it will be able to create momentum in design. On the other hand, short strokes are how most novices tend to draw. For drawing long stroke lines, I encourage you to try carefully observing your entire sketch.

Please look at this sketch.

This is a good example. You can see that the sketch is formed from those lines which could succeed as a sketch.

In fact, this sketch is consisted by several lines, and some parts are redrawn; however each line has a long stroke. Therefore, it does not look like unreal although lines are drawn at not appropriate position.
